Crop Circle Adventure 2 - July 29th – August 5th 2010
The Crop Circles, which have appeared worldwide for over 30 years, still have an enigmatic presence, especially on the landscape of southern England, where an abundance of magnificent patterns appear in the fields each summer. With such a small group we can be free and spontaneous to explore crop circles as they appear. The week will be packed with adventures, hunting out new crop circles (it's really like a treasure hunt sometimes), and meeting with other researchers and interesting people from around the world who are compelled to take an annual Pilgrimage to explore this amazing mystery. We'll stay in the heart of Wiltshire crop circle country and our week will be interspersed with visits to the myriad of ancient sites that are concentrated in this glorious Sacred Landscape, including private entrance to Stonehenge outside hours. Also included is a day trip to Glastonbury, which has been a spiritual center for thousands of years.
Thursday July 29th –Meet at pre-arranged time and place at London Heathrow (LHR). Travel to our accommodations, lunching at a country pub en route. We will be staying in a delightful cottage in the village of Etchilhampton, near Devizes, right in the heart of Crop Circle country. After settling in, go to visit our first Crop Circle. In the evening, enjoy our Welcome Dinner at one of the charming country pubs in the area.
Friday July 30th –After a leisurely breakfast, drive to the Silent Circle, the lovely “croppie” meeting place. Take a picnic lunch to Avebury, visiting the Stone Circle (largest in Europe). Before leaving Avebury, stop by the Henge shop, a popular place for discerning shoppers. Explore any Crop Circles in the vicinity.

Saturday July 31st –In the morning (weather permitting) you will have the opportunity to take an exhilarating flight above the Crop Circles, so that you can see from above all the ones you’ve visited on the ground and get a chance to spot any new ones. Enjoy lunch in the lovely old market town of Marlborough. In the afternoon visit West Kennett Long Barrow (a 5000 year old chambered tomb), and see close by Silbury Hill (largest man made mound in Europe), taking in any formations that are in the area. After dinner at a lovely country pub, go up to Knapp Hill (optional) to have a few hours of sky/crop watching. What will we see? Many people have seen “balls of light” and other high strangeness from these locations.

Sunday August 1st –In case we weren't able to fly yesterday, we’ll have another opportunity today. Otherwise, explore any new Crop Circles. Have lunch at The Barge Inn, a “croppie’ meeting place of yesteryear, set in a picturesque setting by the Kennet and Avon Canal, and then on to Devizes, a captivating old market town in the area.
Monday August 2nd –Take a trip to Wayland’s Smithy and Uffington White Horse, visiting any Circles in the vicinity. This evening we have a special visit to Stonehenge where we have private access inside the circle for sunset meditation.

Tuesday August 3rd –Today we journey to Glastonbury and ancient Avalon, leaving early and staying late. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Chalice Well, with its healing waters and peaceful gardens, climb Glastonbury Tor, visit the ancient Abbey ruins, and explore the unique and colourful shops. Stop for dinner at a lovely country pub on the way home.
Wednesday August 4th –This is our last day together and our last Crop Circle experiences. Group consensus will decide what else. This afternoon we’ll be honoured to have afternoon tea with Michael Glickman, one of the “elders” of crop circle research, at his cottage. Here we will be enlightened by his unique insights into the Crop Circles and entertained by his witty humor. In the evening, enjoy our Farewell Dinner together at a charming country pub.
Thursday August 5th - After breakfast, it is goodbye to Crop Circle country and back to London Heathrow.
Price - £1255* which includes:
- Pick up and set down at London's Heathrow Airport

- Stonehenge - special access for sunset meditation
